Chanel Classic Flap Bag Size Guide
July 2, 2020
Chanel classic flap bag was introduced by Karl Lagerfeld (1933 – 2019) when he joined Chanel fashion house as the creative director in the 1980s. Chanel 11.12 is another name for classic flap bag but is less commonly used.
Chanel 2.55 actually refers to all types of flap bag extended from Chanel 2.55 with Mademoiselle lock. However, to better differentiate the varieties, the term Chanel Classic Flap Bag is widely used to refer to Chanel flap bag with a CC clasp at the front, regardless whether it is in chevron, diamond or any other kind of stitching and materials. Even Chanel website uses Classic Handbag to refer to this type of flap bag.
Now, let’s look at the sizes.
The Varieties of Chanel Classic Flap Bag
Chanel classic flap bags come with many varieties in term of the flaps, sizes and internal pockets compared to 2.55. I have created tables below for your easy reference. Chanel Extra Mini Flap Bag was discontinued so purchasing it from the resale market is the only way if it is the size you sought after.
