The International Groups of Luxury Fashion Brands

BlogUncategorized

LVMH (Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton), Kering and Richemont are three renowned international groups that (partially) own many luxury fashion, cosmetics, watch, jewelry and yacht brands. I will not be covering every single brand they own because each of them are owning more than dozens of high-end lifestyle brands. This post will only be focusing only on popular luxury fashion brands that many fashionistas are familiar with.

LVMH

LVMH is a French multinational corporation and conglomerate specializing in luxury goods. The company was formed in 1987 through the merger of fashion house Louis Vuitton with Moët Hennessy. Learn pronouncing Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton in French here.

Kering

This is Kering headquarter, located at 40, rue de Sèvres, Paris, France. It is an “interesting” place which had housed a hospital and headquarter of Balenciaga, see short introduction from Kering website.

In 2016, following an ambitious renovation, Kering established its head office at 40, rue de Sèvres, an address renowned for its exceptional architecture. The Group wishes for the site, with its rich history dating back nearly 400 years, to remain accessible to all. It has therefore decided to open its doors to the public for European Heritage Days, temporary exhibitions and other events.

Kering would like this architectural gem, which it has the privilege of occupying, to remain an open and welcoming space. Since 2016, the Group has registered 40, rue de Sèvres with the European Heritage Days program. Its goal is twofold: to share the history of this exceptional site and to provide a unique perspective on art and fashion. Each year, visitors can admire a selection of contemporary artworks from the Pinault Collection and as well as creations from the archives of the House of Balenciaga, which also has its headquarters at the former Laennec Hospital. Neighbors, Parisians or tourists from afar: so far 40, rue de Sèvres has welcomed nearly 30,000 visitors in four years.

Situated at the heart of Paris’ 7th arrondissement, 40, rue de Sèvres housed the Laennec Hospital until 2000. Construction of the former hospital began in 1632. Half the space is devoted to gardens, in the style of the great Parisian hospitals. Drawn to the site’s singular architecture and rich history, among other features, the Group embarked on an ambitious renovation project. Thanks to its location architecture and history, 40, rue de Sèvres is a major cultural landmark.
